This blog will chronicle my efforts in taming the litter mess associated with 5, yes, FIVE cats. Some of you will say 5 is nothing, but believe me, 5 is something. My blog will discuss the litter mishaps, types of litter that seem to work best, how to resolve odor and behavior issues and hopefully, you will help me find the best solutions.

I sure hope I can Philip. Try a deeper box or one with a lid. That should help.

At one point I had six adult cats living indoors. The Cat Genie auto litter box saved me from lots of scooping, transporting mega bags of litter and a good amount of money. As a backup, I kept a second box with The World’s Best Cat litter (lavender scent) nearby. It really reduced the chore and potential ick-factor with litter duty. Especially with a Roomba that cleans the floors 3x/week. The only downside is having to dismantle and clean the Cat Genie every 6 months.

Thanks Michelle! I have seen the Cat Genie but have not yet ventured to try one. I am interested to know how the cats accepted it. I guess ok? And the WBC litter – what is the dust level like? I know it is a slightly more expensive litter. Does it last longer than normal clay litters? I really appreciate your comment. Hope you continue to check in on my blog. Your comments were very helpful.

Hi, my Mom is trying to get the word out about a new cat litter called Perfect Litter. Walgreen’s sells it, but they also are offering a free* 30-day trial (S&H 8.95). If we send you some, will you give it a review? It’s 99% dust-free, eco-friendly, detects Feline Urinary Tract Disease, and is FLUSHABLE which she’s most excited about. 🙂 ~T. Oh, their website is by the way.
